Chef Isao Yoshimura

Chef Isao was born in a Kumumoto Prefecture, on the island of Kyushu in southern Japan. As a young boy growing up in the countryside of rice patties, he dreamed of moving somewhere big.

At age 19, he landed in New York City where he trained in the Edomae style of sushi- “classic sushi”. His craft is a blend of traditional techniques with contemporary sensibilities. Today, he works as a private chef hired by a number of clients for gatherings that range from elaborate, upscale dinner parties to small family-style meals. His elegant craftsmanship is met with quality ingredients sourced with care from local fisherman, farmers, and Japan.

His family is rooted in Japan, which frequently brings him back to visit his homeland. He loves nothing more than sharing his culture with others, including guiding them on private tours of Japan to taste, see, and explore.
